ProgressIQ has been invaluable to William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine (WCUCOM) over the past 10 years. Before ProgressIQ, WCUCOM had no way to integrate its data. Each department had siloed student information. Academic Counselors and Faculty Advisors sent endless emails trying to keep each other updated on students, and communications were getting lost in the shuffle. Accreditation was also siloed, with no way to pull aggregate reports and different departments sometimes having different numbers for similar questions. The person who headed accreditation was forced to mediate between departments trying to find which data source was correct, wasting precious time.
With ProgressIQ, all this data is now integrated. Academic Counselors and Faculty Advisors can leave each other administrative notes on a student profile that is FERPA compliant. Faculty advisors can be confident the data they see on a student profile matches between departments and that the faculty member and student are receiving the same information. Additionally, we are now able to easily track if we are “testing what we teach” using the dashboard to track performance on competencies and learning objectives. Accreditation reporting now takes half the time and no one must verify data between offices. Everything is conveniently located in one spot.
ProgressIQ allows for constant checks and balances. If an office does see an issue in imported data, they can immediately notify the overseeing office, the Office of Assessment, so any discrepancies can be handled far in advance of any reporting to accreditors.
Most importantly, it provides us easy access to contacting our students and to alerting them when they need to reach out for help. Students can use their dashboard to easily see their grades across the curriculum as well as information about who their assigned Faculty Advisor and Academic Counselors are. We all know they forget half of the things we tell them during orientation! They also enjoy the ease of only having to go to one place for all this information.
ProgressIQ has been a game changer for WCUCOM. The cost savings this program has provided are well in to the $100,000s over the past few years. Not to mention to value of being able to assist students in a more efficient way. -Elizabeth T., William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine
