ProgressIQ is truly an amazing academic tool that helps students keep track of their academic successes. Being able to access the website on my phone allows me to monitor my grades closely to ensure that I stay on the right track with the ability to ask my professors what it is I need to do to reach my goals.

I love being able to view my scores in a way that is broken down into detail for every subject. I feel that this type of reporting is important to becoming a well-rounded doctor that can succeed in every medical subject. I cannot imagine using an Excel sheet with a number beside my name as a means for academic reporting. ProgressIQ has made my future brighter and I am sure will continue to do so for many others.

As an osteopathic school, our philosophy emphasizes the unity of mind, body, spirit, and the concept of health promotion through student wellness and development. Here at TUC, there is an ongoing endeavor to create well-rounded medical students through a Wellness, Academics, Resilience, and Mindfulness (WARM) curriculum. How does ProgressIQ fit into WARM?

Wellness. The student snapshot promotes transparency and efficiency. Using a system that provides a holistic insight of student performance, faculty mentors can better support our efforts of self-care behavior and health-promoting lifestyle.

Academics. ProgressIQ is one of many resources that allows me to analyze my strengths and weaknesses through self-reflection. This has been integral in my routine mentor meetings when understanding what kind of learner I am.

Resilience. ProgressIQ serves as an academic support system that seamlessly shares data. Having access to this information enables me to develop adaptive behaviors and learn how to face my academic challenges.

Mindfulness. Without the need to navigate through different information systems, I am able to develop my ability to pay attention to present experiences and develop a sense of self awareness that will translate into greater emotional intelligence and well-being.

ProgressIQ has been a strong influential factor in my academic progress. The easy to navigate dashboard allows students like myself to stay on top of my academic progress, while being able to directly collaborate with faculty. Long gone are the days of patiently waiting in line to receive a report card to only find out that your academic progress has deteriorated past the point of improvement. Being able to see how I am performing in a particular course throughout the semester has allowed me to stay on top of my success and adjust my study habits accordingly. I personally have used this feature immensely to address any lack of performance. When I was not performing well, I addressed it as soon as possible with the help of faculty. I can proudly say that with the easy to navigate ProgressIQ and its tremendous capabilities I was able to improve my scores by a whole letter grade. These grades made me academically competitive when applying for continuing education programs.

As students of the 21st century, we are constantly exposed to new ideas on how to integrate technology with education. I have interacted with multiple student academic progress monitoring software throughout my academic career and ProgressIQ has been the best one. Not only is the software easy to navigate through and visually pleasing, but also has many additional features that go beyond simply calculating your grade.

The feature I appreciate the most on ProgressIQ is the alert system where the software sends an email to a student and their advisor. Early on during my first semester of medical school, I received one of these alerts and was advised to contact my advisor. Even before I finished composing my email, my advisor beat me to it by sending me an email checking up on me and asking if there was anything he could do to help me improve. I was pleasantly surprised to know that my advisor actually cared about my academic success, which helped me feel that I was more than a face in a sea of hundreds of students. Now, I feel more comfortable reaching out to my advisor and other faculty members in school. ProgressIQ facilitated this connection between my advisor and me early on in my medical school career, which I am confident will help me succeed not just during my pre-clinical years but even when I am out on rotations and beyond.

As a student, time is my most valuable asset. I have been in school for a long time and have always been frustrated having to spend so much time calculating grades to track my academic performance. ProgressIQ allows me to monitor my performance regularly without losing hours that could have been spent on studying or taking care of my other responsibilities. More importantly, any opportunity to free up a few hours is valuable in being able to stay balanced in school. Being able to keep track of my performance allows me to set more realistic academic goals, prioritize which classes I need to focus on, and constantly re-evaluate where to spend my time and effort. I think Progress IQ is a great tool for students to stay mindful and keep track of their academic goals!
